Job Title:    IRO/CP chair

Contract Length:       Initial 3-month interim contract (view to extend to 6 months)

Location:              Yorkshire, full-time

IR35 Status:           Inside IR35

Rate:               £220-£260 per day

We are supporting the recruitment of an IRO /CP Chair, reporting directly to the Service Manager.

Hybrid working is supported for this role, you would be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week with flexibility needed to support with practice improvement agendas.

Deadline for submissions is COP Friday 19th April 2024

About your role as IRO/CP chair:

• Ensuring that CPC and LAC reviews are held within the required timeframe and are chaired independently in accordance with IRO regulations
• Ensuring that Care Plans for looked after children are based on detailed and informed assessment, they are up to date and effective
• Identifying any gaps in the assessment process or delivery of service
• Offering a safeguard to prevent any ‘drift’ in care planning and the delivery of services

• Monitoring the activity of the Local Authority: that Care Plans have given proper consideration and weight to the child’s current views, wishes and feelings

Your required experience as IRO/CP Chair:

• Social work England active registration
• 5 years post qualification experience
• Detailed knowledge and experience of child care legislation, procedure and practice relating to Child Protection/safeguarding and Children Looked After
• Experience carry out quality assurance monitoring, report findings and make recommendations about the practice improvements required
• Knowledge of Liquid Logic would be an advantage
