We have an exciting opportunity working with a Local Authority within London, the role itself will require you to represent the local authority at SEND hearings, working with approximately 25-30 cases. You will be reporting into the Tribunal manager, and be adept at working through mediation to resolves issues in order to secure positive outcomes for children and families within the SEND directorate.

Interviews to happen W/C 22/04/24, with a start date within a week.

Essential Skills & Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of SENDIST Appeal and Tribunal process.
  • Experience of chairing meetings and leading working groups.
  • Able to advise the senior officers on the approach to individual cases.
  • Experience of working as LA Representative in Tribunal Hearings
  • Local Authority experience in similar post


Job Role:

  • Manage the appeals and tribunal process including ensuring all cases are coordinated in line with the tribunal process.
  • Work with colleagues across the local area and in legal services to prepare tribunal documentation and ensure timescales are met for submission.
  • Lead on mediation across the service, supporting staff to participate alongside families
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues and partner agencies supporting children and young people with SEND
