Senior Tenancy Relations Officer
Initial 6-month contract

£32 per hour (umbrella) – Negotiable dependent upon experience

Are you ready to step into a Senior Tenancy Relations Officer role where your expertise will directly prevent homelessness and drive strong enforcement action? Reporting into Housing Regulations & Enforcement leadership, you will be at the heart of complex tenancy investigations, applying legislation robustly while balancing empathy and action.

This is a high-impact Senior Tenancy Relations Officer opportunity where your ability to manage sensitive cases and deliver outcomes will be recognised quickly.  In your role as a Senior Tenancy Relations Officer, you will take ownership of investigations across the private rented sector, working in a fast-paced environment where your decisions actively protect tenants and uphold the law.  

Your Role as Senior Tenancy Relations Officer:
 
• Lead investigations & enforcement action, from civil penalties through to prosecution
• Deliver expert housing advice to tenants, landlords, and stakeholders
• Prepare legal case files, notices & prosecution reports aligned to legislation
• Conduct PACE interviews & evidence gathering with confidence and professionalism
• Represent the Council in tribunal hearings & court proceedings  

Your previous experience as a Senior Tenancy Relations Officer:  

• Strong background in housing enforcement, environmental health or investigative roles
• Proven experience issuing civil penalties and progressing prosecutions
• In-depth knowledge of key legislation including Housing Acts, Protection from Eviction Act & Renters’ Rights Act
• Ability to manage high-volume casework with competing priorities
• Confidence in working independently and across multi-agency teams  

This Senior Tenancy Relations Officer contract offers flexibility once you’ve demonstrated competency, with an initial onboarding period to set you up for success. With a strong likelihood of extension due to ongoing backlog, this is an excellent opportunity to secure longer-term work while making an immediate impact.
