Are you an experienced Strategic Lead within Adult Social Care Commissioning looking for your next high-impact assignment? This is an outstanding opportunity to lead the largest commissioning team within Adult Social Care, reporting into the Head of Service and overseeing 7 Commissioning Managers and 4 Commissioners. As the Strategic Lead, you will be responsible for delivering a portfolio of complex commissioning programmes worth in excess of £1.5bn, while driving innovation, market sustainability and improved outcomes for residents.

This Strategic Lead, Commissioning opportunity will place you at the centre of major transformation programmes, including large-scale framework recommissioning, procurement activity and service redesign. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining momentum, supporting organisational change and providing strategic leadership across a diverse commissioning portfolio.

Your Role as Strategic Lead, Adult Social Care Commissioning:

• Lead the delivery of major commissioning and procurement programmes, including Homecare, Supported Living, Residential Services and Day Opportunities Frameworks
• Provide strategic leadership across commissioning portfolios including Care Homes, Self-Directed Support and Community Equipment Services
• Manage and develop a high-performing team of Commissioning Managers and Commissioners within a matrix delivery model
• Drive service improvement, market sustainability, co-production and positive outcomes for residents
• Deputise for the Head of Service and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, partners and providers

Your Previous Experience as Strategic Lead, Adult Social Care Commissioning:

• Significant experience leading complex commissioning and procurement programmes within Adult Social Care
• Proven track record of strategic leadership within a Local Authority or public sector environment
• Strong programme management skills with the ability to deliver multiple high-value projects simultaneously
• Experience leading teams through change, organisational transformation and service redesign
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the confidence to influence at senior leadership level
