Are you ready to step into a high-impact Licensing Operations Manager role where you will lead critical public protection functions and influence service delivery at a strategic level? As a Licensing Operations Manager, you will report directly into a Strategic Manager, taking ownership of operational licensing services while shaping cross-cutting initiatives across community and environmental protection. This is your opportunity to deputise at senior level, lead workstreams, and make a tangible difference through intelligence-led approaches and strong partnerships.
Your Role as Licensing Operations Manager:
• Lead and manage operational licensing functions with full accountability
• Drive cross-cutting workstreams across public and environmental protection
• Deputise for the Strategic Manager, influencing key decisions
• Oversee and develop high-performing teams (direct and indirect reports)
• Shape policy, produce strategic reports, and influence stakeholders
You will thrive in this Licensing Operations Manager position if you enjoy working at pace, navigating complex regulatory environments, and building effective partnerships across agencies. Your leadership will ensure strong performance delivery aligned to wider organisational objectives.
Your previous experience as Licensing Operations Manager:
• Extensive background in Licensing, Environmental Health, or Trading Standards
• Proven leadership experience within a public protection or local authority setting
• Strong track record in delivering change across complex regulatory areas
• Confident in stakeholder engagement, including Members and partner organisations
• Ability to analyse data and lead intelligence-led operational models
As a Licensing Operations Manager, you will also bring strong communication skills, the ability to motivate teams, and confidence in presenting to senior audiences. Your expertise will support the development of effective policies, ensuring services remain responsive to legislative and community needs.
