We’re delighted to announce that our Divisional Manager of Social Care, Leah Overend, has been awarded the Most Inspiring Team Leader at the 2022 Recruiter Investing in Talent Awards!
A career defining moment, this win is so significant, not only to Leah, but to all of us within the business.
She works such an incredibly challenging role, but she has risen to the challenge against all odds and has continued to encouraged authenticity throughout the business. Leah’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable.
Leah has been promoted 3 times, journeyed through a personal development voyage unlike any other and experienced highs and lows within her career and personal life. All the while, she has continued to make a significant difference to our community with every single one of her 120 placements, placing contractors in the most vulnerable areas of social care, from safeguarding through to fostering and adoption within local authorities.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – the recruitment industry has a work hard, play hard mentality. Our business model is built on making a difference to people’s lives and Leah is a true advocate of this.
Being neurodiverse herself, Leah is living proof that people with neurodiversity can have the same opportunities as neurotypical people and can thrive, not only in the workplace, but in the recruitment industry. She is evidence that if you can dream it, you can do it and we are extremely proud of how far Leah has come.
On the win, Leah states:
“Overwhelmed doesn’t even cover it! To be put forward by my wonderful colleagues in the first instance was so humbling. It was a wonderful night to stand shoulder to shoulder with some of the most inspiring individuals in our sector! I’m so lucky to have found such an amazing company, team, leaders and friends. We are each other’s biggest cheerleaders and above all, we support individuality – that truly is the cherry on top of the cake!“
The Recruiter Investing in Talent Award winners were announced on Tuesday 31st January at The Brewery in London.
Recruiter Investing in Talent Awards believe:
“Talent is like gold dust – there’s never enough of it. And like great wealth, great talent requires investment – in learning & development and an attractive pay & benefits strategy, for example.
But it takes an insightful, strategically clever recruitment business to recognise the value of investing in its current and future talent.”
