This is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Service Children & Education to shape the future of education, safeguarding, school improvement and partnership services. Reporting into senior leadership, you will drive innovation, lead high-performing managers and ensure statutory responsibilities are delivered through ambitious, child-centred services.
 
Your Role as Head of Service Children & Education:

• Lead Education, School Improvement, Commissioning and Partnerships services whilst supporting wider children’s service priorities.
• Drive service transformation, innovation and continuous improvement across multiple service areas.
• Build and strengthen strategic partnerships across education, health, voluntary sector and social care organisations.
• Champion child-centred, outcomes-focused practice ensuring high standards of safeguarding and service delivery.
• Lead, develop and inspire Service Managers and Team Managers through effective performance management, coaching and leadership.

 
Your Previous Experience as a Head of Service Children & Education:

• Significant experience providing strategic and operational leadership across complex children’s and education services.
• Proven track record of delivering service improvement, transformation programmes and organisational change.
• Strong understanding of children’s social care, education legislation, safeguarding and statutory duties.
• Experience working collaboratively with education, health, police, community and voluntary sector partners.
• Appropriate professional qualification including Registered Social Worker, relevant degree-level qualification or Qualified Teacher Status.
