This is an exciting opportunity for a Principal Educational Psychologist to lead a highly skilled team, shape the future direction of educational psychology services, and make a lasting impact on children, young people, families and schools.

As the Principal Educational Psychologist, you will act as the senior professional lead, driving quality, innovation and excellence across the service. You will play a key role in ensuring statutory responsibilities are met while developing inclusive educational provision that enables children and young people to achieve their full potential. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence strategic decision-making, lead service development and champion best practice across a wide range of stakeholders and partner agencies.  

Your Role as Principal Educational Psychologist:

  • Lead and manage a team of Educational Psychologists, providing professional leadership, supervision and support
  • Quality assure consultation, assessment, intervention, training and research activity across the service
  • Deliver complex casework, including assessments, advice, interventions and ongoing monitoring
  • Develop and deliver training and support programmes that strengthen inclusive practice within educational settings
  • Contribute to strategic planning, policy development and multi-agency collaboration to improve outcomes for vulnerable learners

Your Experience as Principal Educational Psychologist:

  • Degree in Psychology and a postgraduate qualification (Masters or Doctoral level) in Educational Psychology
  • HCPC registration alongside membership of the British Psychological Society and Association of Educational Psychologists
  • Extensive experience delivering high-quality educational psychology services within complex settings
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams of professional psychologists
  • Expert knowledge of psychological theory and practice relating to children and young people with emotional, behavioural and social needs
