If you’re an experienced surveyor who enjoys taking ownership of projects and seeing tangible results, this Commercial Project Building Surveyor opportunity offers the chance to lead a varied programme of refurbishment, maintenance, compliance and building fabric projects across a diverse commercial estate.
 
As Commercial Project Building Surveyor, you’ll be trusted to manage projects from feasibility through to completion while providing technical leadership and ensuring assets remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose. Reporting into senior property leadership, you’ll work closely with stakeholders, contractors and surveying professionals, playing a key role in maintaining and improving a significant public sector portfolio.
 
This Commercial Project Building Surveyor position will suit someone who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on project delivery and is confident making decisions that influence project outcomes, budgets and service improvements.
 
Your Role as Commercial Project Building Surveyor:

  • Lead delivery of refurbishment, maintenance, compliance and building fabric projects from inception through to handover
    • Manage and mentor Building Surveyors, supporting performance, development and technical standards
    • Control budgets and programmes, ensuring projects are delivered on time and provide value for money
    • Oversee contractors and procurement activity, managing performance and contract compliance
    • Act as the technical lead on complex building issues, compliance requirements and stakeholder advice

 
Your Previous Experience as a Commercial Project Building Surveyor:

  • Degree, apprenticeship qualification or NVQ Level 5 minimum in Building Surveying, Construction or a related discipline
    • Extensive post-charter experience delivering commercial property or public sector projects
    • Strong contract administration and procurement knowledge, including contractor management
    • Expert understanding of Building Regulations, CDM and wider statutory compliance requirements
    • Proven leadership and stakeholder management experience within complex property environments
