Are you an experienced leader within Children’s Social Care looking for your next interim opportunity? This Team Manager position offers the chance to lead a dedicated Care Leavers service, ensuring young people receive the support, guidance and opportunities they need as they transition into adulthood.
As Team Manager, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team, oversee complex casework and drive service performance across the Care Leavers pathway. You will play a key role in maintaining high-quality practice standards, supporting staff development and ensuring statutory responsibilities are consistently met. If you are passionate about improving outcomes for care-experienced young people and enjoy leading from the front, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

Your Role as Team Manager:

  • Lead and manage a busy Care Leavers service, ensuring delivery of high-quality support and intervention
  • Oversee case allocation, pathway planning and performance management across the team
  • Provide supervision, coaching and professional guidance to Social Workers and Personal Advisors
  • Drive quality assurance, auditing and service improvement to promote best practice
  • Develop strong partnerships with housing, education, health and external agencies to improve outcomes for young people

Your Previous Experience as Team Manager:

  • Qualified Social Worker with significant post-qualification experience within Children’s Social Care
  • Strong operational experience within Care Leavers and Looked After Children services
  • Experience of leading, supervising and developing staff performance within a social care setting
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding frameworks and evidence-based practice
  • Proven ability to manage complex services, competing priorities and statutory responsibilities
