Are you an experienced Head Of Service – Service Improvement with a track record of leading complex transformation programmes within Children’s Services? This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a high-profile Head Of Service – Service Improvement assignment where you will play a pivotal role in driving reform, embedding service improvement, and supporting organisational change at a critical stage of development.

As Head Of Service – Service Improvement, you will lead the implementation of key strategic priorities, ensuring programmes remain on track, risks are effectively managed, and positive outcomes are delivered for children, families and the workforce. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact while working alongside senior leaders to shape future service delivery.

Your Role as Head Of Service – Service Improvement • Lead the implementation of Families First reforms, ensuring robust programme governance, delivery plans and reporting arrangements are in place.
• Design and embed a new Quality Assurance Framework, driving continuous improvement through performance, audit and feedback mechanisms.
• Coordinate workforce planning and transition activity, ensuring services are prepared for future operating models.
• Maintain oversight of wider transformation and improvement programmes, identifying dependencies and opportunities across services.
• Provide high-quality programme management, including risk registers, action logs, decision records and delivery milestones.

Your Experience as Head Of Service – Service Improvement • Significant experience operating at Senior Manager level within local government or children’s services.
• Proven success leading large-scale organisational change and transformation programmes.
• Strong programme and project management expertise with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience influencing senior leaders and partners.
• Strong attention to detail with experience maintaining comprehensive programme documentation and governance processes.
