Charmaine Vincent

Who are you and what is your purpose?

I am Charmaine Vincent; a passionate, award winning business owner and CEO.
I refer to my 24 year’s professional experience, much like a biography with many exciting chapters (Some still unwritten). I’m super passionate about making a difference & being a positive role model for my daughter.

I’m someone that isn’t afraid of showing vulnerability and I continue to invest heavily in the development of myself and others to empower them to become the best version of themselves.

What has been your greatest achievement (personal or professional)?

Being a mother is by far the biggest achievement in my life. My daughter Florence was born in 2015, only 2 years after I had set up Baltimore Consulting and she immediately made me a better, kinder, stronger, more empowered woman. She showed me the meaning of unconditional love and gave me a real purpose. Professionally, completing an MBO in 2018, at which time, I took 100% ownership of my business. I have since proven that caring about your staff and their wellbeing, wanting to make a positive difference within the community and being committed to running a business with a strong moral compass can still help you achieve unprecedented growth. I’m proud to be different and will always put my people first.

What advice would you give other leaders out there?

Back yourself 100%. Don’t let others tell you, that you’re not capable. There will always be a queue of people to make you question if now is the right time, if you have the right skills etc – It’s important that you don’t join that queue of self-doubt and negativity. You have to own your story and be proud of it. It’s important to remember, that, you are enough, and anything is possible if you work hard enough and believe in yourself. Surround yourself with good people and always seek advice from the very best to become the best version of you.

Who inspires you? And why?

I follow Brene Brown and think she’s absolutely fantastic.

She quotes, “Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we’ll ever do.”

She talks about at courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy and is a hugely positive role model for women. I read Daring Greatly a couple of years ago and Brene is amazing at finding the language to articulate collective feeling and you can’t help but feel empowered.

I’d say that generally speaking, Strong women, that overcome adversity and those that aren’t afraid to show vulnerability really inspire me. We all have challenges in life and no one story is the same. It’s how we overcome those challenges and our willingness to share our stories and what we have learnt along the way, that makes us inspiring.

Favourite Food

Samphire. Odd choice I realise. it’s perfect with fish, however I would literally eat it with every meal if I could.

What’s your leadership superpower?

My core values have always been Honesty, Transparency & Care. I believe my superpower is that I care about the outcome. I care about making a difference, I care about changing other people’s lives and I make it my mission to help others achieve their goals.
