Reporting into the Asset Transfer and Disposal Business Partner you will be responsible for overseeing the council’s property transfers and disposals, ensuring adherence to regulations.

Your responsibilities include evaluating properties, preparing business cases, and managing transactions to align with the council’s strategic objectives.

About the Transfer and Disposals Surveyor role:

  • Ensure the implementation of the council’s transfer and disposal programs in full compliance with Section 123 of the 1972 Local Government Act.
  • Support the delivery of the council’s Strategic Asset Management Plan, ensuring assets are optimally located for effective service provision.
  • Contribute to asset class reviews and the formulation of asset class strategies.
  • Conduct options appraisals for community and surplus properties, guided by feasibility studies and viability assessments.
  • Prepare business cases to deliver financially sustainable property solutions aligned with the council’s priorities.
  • Manage and facilitate property transfers and disposals efficiently while adhering to due process.
  • Draft heads of terms and coordinate with legal teams on transfers, sales, leases, and collaborative agreements, including Joint Ventures.

 
About you as a Transfer and Disposals Surveyor:
 

  • Possess a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in estate management, specifically asset transfers and disposals.
  • Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Experience of transfers and disposals within a Local Authority
