Reporting into the  Assistant Director of Highways & Transportation, you will oversee the collaborate with the borough transport leads to create a clear delivery plan for SLP transport priorities as outlined in the upcoming SLP growth ambitions document. You will work with the SLP Director and Head of Place and Partnerships to identify and engage sub-regional partners to advance SLP strategic transport goals. You will have a proven track record of delivering transport services within a council.
 
Your role as Strategic Sub-regional Transport Lead:

  • Work with the SLP Director and Head of Place and Partnerships to identify and engage sub-regional partners to advance SLP strategic transport goals.
  • Coordinate with SLP housing leads to align transport and housing ambitions.
  • Provide sub-regional oversight on emerging transport opportunities and challenges, engaging with TfL to seek future funding.
  • Develop strategic responses to consultations from government, statutory, private, and voluntary bodies.
  • Produce detailed reports on SLP transport data to demonstrate the need for increased investment.
  • Revitalise the case for Crossrail 2 from an SLP perspective, working with partners to support this initiative.

 
Your previous experience as Strategic Sub-regional Transport Lead:

  • Experience in leading individual projects and developing transport policy positions.
  • Ability to produce reports using transport data.
  • Skills in engaging with external partners and building relationships to further policy goals.
