Reporting into the Service Director you will be responsible for leading elements on the councils housing transformation programme. In this role you will manage change and enhance organisational performance across Housing Needs and Homelessness.
 
Your Role as Service Manager for Housing;

  • Deliver responsive, effective, and safe housing services that meet the needs of the individuals supported by the service.
  • Work in close partnership with provider organisations using a person-centred approach.
  • Ensure services are consistent, meet legislative requirements, and maximise available resources.
  • Manage and deliver services in complex and sensitive situations in a calm and proactive manner.
  • Attend Leadership Group meetings, playing a full and active role in corporate leadership and departmental management.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are compliant, delivering a consistent and lawful application of policy into service delivery.
  • Liaise with colleagues, partners, and customers at all levels with excellent interpersonal skills.

 
Your previous experience as Service Manager for Housing;

  • Degree in Housing-related area or equivalent.
  • Extensive understanding of housing, ideally relating to homelessness or housing renewal.
  • Substantial experience of working in complex and sensitive situations.
  • Previous experience of managing and delivering services, ideally within a multi-agency setting.
  • You will have excellent knowledge of delivery housing strategies from planning, developing, and managing multiple housing projects.
