6 month initial contract
5 Days per week
£450 per day – Inside IR35
Midlands Local Authority (Fully remote)

Baltimore Consulting are currently working with a local authority based in the Midlands, who have an immediate requirement for an experienced Interim Senior SEND Tribunal Officer to work within the SEN Tribunals team.In order to be considered for this role, you must have a proven track record working as a Tribunal Officer within a local authority setting, along with recent experience of appeal management from start to finish including presenting the LA’s case hearing, covering whole resolutions and an expert knowledge of SEN/D & the SEND Code of Practice.

The role of the Senior SEND Tribunal Officer is to represent the Council in Tribunal appeals and to manage 4-5 caseworkers and administrators within the Tribunals team. Responsibilities will include:-

• Considering and drafting the LA’s response to appeals and preparing and collating evidence
• Attending SENDIST hearings, Judicial Alternative Dispute Resolution hearings, Telephone Case Management Hearings, Case Review Hearings.
• Chairing of tribunal weekly triage meetings with all relevant stakeholders including health, social care and education
• Providing advice and guidance on mediations and tribunal appeals
• Liaising with witnesses and representing the Council at final hearings
