Senior Manager (Service Manager) – Contextual Safeguarding
 
Location: North West (Hybrid – 2 to 3 days on site per week)
Rate: £350–£400 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: 3 months initially (budget secured)
Start Date: ASAP | IT equipment provided
 
A local authority in Lancashire is looking for an experienced Senior Manager (Service Manager) to lead its newly created MPOWER service, focused on contextual safeguarding and support for vulnerable adolescents.
 
This is a key operational leadership role with responsibility for exploitation, child sexual exploitation (CSE), children with disabilities (CWD), Youth Justice, and wider adolescent safeguarding services. You’ll report directly to the Head of Service and line manage a small team, helping embed a cohesive, multi-disciplinary approach.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day delivery of the MPOWER service
  • Supervise and support three direct reports
  • Provide strategic oversight of adolescent and contextual safeguarding
  • Contribute to inspection readiness and multi-agency partnership work
     

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience at Service Manager level within safeguarding/adolescent services
  • Strong background in contextual safeguarding, exploitation, or Youth Justice
  • Social Work England registration
  • Ability to work on site in Preston 2–3 days per week
