I am currently working with a North West of England based local authority in their search for an experienced Commissioning professional for 6-month interim contracts to lead their portfolio for Adult Social Care, specifically within assistive technology and community equipment.

Your duties as a Commissioning Manager: 

  • Reporting to the Assistant Director of Commissioning, you will be responsible for the assistive technology and community equipment pathway as part of the adult social care directorate.
  • As the lead on this portfolio, you will work alongside internal social care staff, Occupational Therapists, providers and housing associations to ensure that service users homes are adapted to meet their needs, whilst ensuring the provision equipment to those with complex needs and require long term support.
  • You will work towards ensuring the service meets the needs of service users, working with operational staff to ensure the service is aligned to national and local strategies and priorities.
  • As part of this you will manage contracts and provider relationships across adult social care, specifically relating to these services.
  • Acting autonomously, this role will not have any line management responsibility, with its sole focus being around the service provision.

 
Experience needed as a Commissioning Manager: 

  • Successful candidate would ideally be business minded with experience in the commissioning and design of adult social care services.
  • You will have extensive experience within assistive technology and community equipment pathways.
  • Be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, with the ability working effectively and build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Available references for the most recent assignments.
