Are you an experienced leader with a passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable children? Our client, based on the south coast, is seeking a dedicated Team Manager to oversee the effective delivery of high-quality practice within the SEND Service. This role requires expert leadership in managing statutory processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving positive change through collaborative working.
You will lead a team to deliver consistent and impactful support for children and young people aged 0-25 with high-level SEND, maintaining compliance with legal frameworks while championing inclusivity within education. Your strategic approach will play a key role in aligning services with national and local policies, ensuring robust decision-making and effective collaboration with professionals across sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team to strengthen practice and ensure consistency in service delivery.
  • Oversee SEND statutory processes, applying rigorous analysis and strategic decision-making to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Promote inclusive education by working collaboratively with professionals across different services and ensuring effective transition planning.
  • Ensure compliance with national policies and legal frameworks, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of SEND case law.
  • Develop and maintain systems for accurate data recording, performance monitoring, and financial oversight.
  • Lead on service improvements, troubleshooting operational challenges, and ensuring high-quality practice within the team.
  • Provide structured supervision, professional guidance, and coaching to team members, fostering a culture of best practice.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent in a relevant field (law, public administration, education, social care, health).
  • Management qualification or commitment to undertake training.
  • Extensive experience in SEND services and decision-making within statutory frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including SEND regulations and policies.
  • Proven ability to apply thresholds and criteria equitably and transparently.
  • Experience in supervising staff and leading recruitment processes.

Job Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS check required.
  • Ability to travel using public transport or a valid UK driving license with access to a vehicle.
