Your role as SEND Case Manager:

To deliver these objectives, the post-holder will:

  • Collaborate with children, young people, their families, education providers, and stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for those with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Support the council in fulfilling statutory duties related to SEND, ensuring assessments, plans, and processes meet legal requirements and deadlines.
  • Handle complex casework, including tribunal cases and multi-agency collaborations.
  • Work with team managers to address complex service user issues.
  • Promote inclusivity in special educational needs across the area.
  • Support service-specific activities that address service and local area priorities.
  • Provide technical guidance for service delivery improvements.

Your experience  as SEND Case Manager:

The post-holder will manage a complex caseload to ensure duties are carried out for:

  • Children and young people (up to 25 years) in statutory assessment, planning, and maintaining Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans.
  • Preparation of evidence for decision-making and tribunal representation.
  • Leading specific meetings, reviews, and statutory multi-agency meetings.
  • Supporting service planning initiatives and addressing key stage transitions.
  • Analyzing and preparing transport appeals for panel decisions.
  • Complete all work within statutory timelines.
  • Utilize monitoring and tracking systems effectively.
  • Ensure data accuracy and timely reviews of provisions across various settings.
  • Provide families with necessary information for decision-making.
  • Engage with service users and stakeholders, offering advice and technical expertise.
  • Build internal and external partnerships to enhance service delivery.
  • Design and deliver training on SEND-related areas.
