Reporting directly to the County Education Manager (Inclusion), a new opportunity has arisen within a Hampshire County Council for an experienced SEN Service Manager on a permanent basis to continue developing SEN service where children, young people and families are at the heart of its work.
Shortlist for July 2022 with interviews taking place August 2022.

Flexible working, remote and site based.
Your duties as SEN Service Manager:

  • You will act at a strategic level and advise the County Education Manager (Inclusion) on lead initiatives, plan and develop policies and procedures, to ensure the County Council meets its educational and statutory responsibilities to children and young people with SEN and their families
  • To lead the SEN Service in developing and implementing the service plan and lead on the communications with elected members, senior leaders, agencies, schools and parent/carer organisations
  • To manage and develop team members and work collaboratively with Health, Education and Case colleagues and young people

Experience needed as SEN Service Manager:

  • You must hold exemplary knowledge of SEND legislation and provision to be able to advise other officers, parents and schools/colleges on complex legal procedures and casework
  • You will have extensive experience of SEND management in the public sector at senior level
  • Be able to demonstrate the impact and improvement that you have made to operational service delivery to meet performance targets
  • Have experience working in a political arena writing reports and working with various stakeholders

Starting early July 2022 with interviews taking place early August 2022.
