School Improvement Advisor (Welsh)
 
Location: Wales – Flexible (Remote working with school visits as needed)
Rate: £500-550/day
Contract Length: 4–6 months
Start Date: ASAP (IT equipment provided)
 
Reporting to: Senior School Improvement Manager
 
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate School Improvement Advisor (Welsh) to support schools in a Local Authority in Wales – driving improvement and achieving higher standards. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on Welsh-medium education across both primary and secondary schools.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert advice and support to headteachers and senior leadership teams to improve school outcomes.
• Work closely with an all-age school and a secondary school, helping to develop and implement effective strategies for school improvement.
• Monitor and evaluate school performance, offering guidance on achieving key standards.
• Contribute to team meetings and collaborate with the wider education team to drive strategic improvements.
   

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Fluent Welsh speaker and writer – essential for supporting Welsh-medium schools.
• Experience in school improvement, ideally with a background as a headteacher or senior leader.
• Proven track record of improving educational outcomes and supporting school leadership teams.
   

Desirable:

• Experience working within a local authority is beneficial but not essential – training provided.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
