As Repairs and Maintenance Lead, you will sit within a high‑profile housing service, working closely with senior stakeholders and frontline teams to keep homes safe, compliant and well‑maintained. You’ll be trusted to run day‑to‑day operations across responsive repairs and voids for a large housing portfolio, acting as the key link between customers, surveyors, back‑office teams and third‑party contractors.

This role offers genuine autonomy, variety and influence without line management, perfect if you enjoy being hands‑on, visible on site and driving outcomes quickly. With an immediate start and clear deliverables, it’s a fantastic opportunity to add real value over a defined contract period.

Your role as Repairs and Maintenance Lead:

  • Lead day‑to‑day operations across responsive repairs and void works
  • Coordinate and manage contractors to deliver quality, cost‑effective outcomes
  • Carry out site inspections focusing on safety, quality and compliance
  • Oversee work schedules and performance, ensuring service standards are met
  • Support service improvements and complaints investigations with practical, evidence‑based input

Your previous experience as Repairs and Maintenance Lead:

  • Strong social housing background with technical knowledge of property maintenance or construction
  • Senior supervisory or management experience in a fast‑paced repairs environment
  • Sound understanding of contract management, health & safety and compliance
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, balancing multiple priorities
  • Proactive, solutions‑focused approach when working with customers and stakeholders
