Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 per annum + performance bonus + generous benefits

We are currently recruiting for an exceptional Registered Manager to make a meaningful and lasting impact creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children can truly thrive.

Reporting to the Responsible Individual, you will join a dynamic and values-driven leadership team that champions integration, integrity, and restorative practice. This forward-thinking private provider is in the process of developing one of the most advanced children’s residential care facilities in Devon.

As Registered Manager, you will lead and inspire a dedicated team of residential care professionals, driving a culture of excellence and therapeutic practice. You will play a pivotal role in shaping service delivery, embedding best practice, and achieving the strategic objectives of the home.

About your role as Children’s Residential Registered Manager:

  • Lead and embed a child-centred, trauma-informed culture across the home.
  • Provide both strategic and day-to-day oversight of operations, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Act as safeguarding lead, ensuring the protection and wellbeing of every child.
  • Recruit, induct, and develop staff, fostering a reflective, inclusive, and values-led team culture.
  • Manage rotas, appraisals, supervision, and staff performance effectively.
  • Ensure records are maintained to the highest standards and inspection readiness is achieved at all times.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with children, families, professionals, and commissioners.
  • Monitor care plans, risk assessments, and ensure individualised, empowering approaches to each child’s journey.
  • Model emotionally intelligent leadership, balancing accountability with compassion.

Your required experience as Children’s Residential Registered Manager

  • Significant experience working in residential childcare with children affected by trauma.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and Ofsted Quality Standards.
  • Proven ability to lead staff teams, deliver reflective supervision, and build positive cultures.
  • Emotional resilience and relational skills to lead during times of challenge.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Manager of a children’s home.

 
Desirable Attributes

  • Experience as a Registered Manager or senior leader in a therapeutic/trauma-informed setting.
  • Knowledge of Regulation 44 and 45 processes.
  • Familiarity with approaches such as PACE, restorative practice, narrative work, or sensory regulation.
  • Commitment to reflective leadership and continuous improvement.
