An exciting opportunity has arisen within a Local Authority in the West Midlands for a Registered Children’s Home Manager for a 3x bed Home. You will report to the Head of Service for Children’s Residential and the key focus of this role will be to register the Home with Ofsted and set up the compliance. The Home is currently not registered with Ofsted, there is an unregulated placement in the home and it has a DOLS young person.

About your duties as the Registered Children’s Home Manager, Children’s Social Care: 

  • To lead and manage the development and shaping of the home, ensuring dynamic plans for the children and young people.
  • Ensure the Home is ready for an incoming Ofsted Inspection
  • On-call responsibilities 1 in 3 weeks
  • Safeguarding and promotion of well-being for those who reside within the home.
  • Ensuring the home complies with the Quality Standards and Children’s Homes Regulations (2015)
  • Ensuring that the staff have training and development opportunities to enable them to be fully skilled within their fields and understand what Ofsted “Good” looks like

 
Your experience needed as the Registered Children’s Home Manager, Children’s Social Care: 

  • Must have a Level 5 Children’s Home Management Qualification.
  • Must have been a Registered Manager (with Ofsted) previously.
  • Must have experience with DOLS.
  • Worked as a Registered Manager within the past 3 years ideally
  • Proven track record as Registered Manager in a children’s home.
  • Must have a detailed knowledge and understanding of practice with unregulated placements.
  • Must have experience of setting up compliance for a Children’s Home.
