An exciting role reporting into the Director of Public Health and working alongside the Consultants in Public Health in the portfolio management and delivery of services relating to Children & Young Peoples Public Health as well as 0-19 Services and Sexual Health Services.

Your duties as a Public Health Principal:

  • Manage and be responsible for these areas of public health portfolio and programme areas. This includes taking lead on these topic areas for the DPH, which also contributing and supporting wider areas of the public health team.
  • Provide in-depth knowledge of public health practice within sexual health and CYP public health. This would include provider guidance advice and taking an active role in training, staff development and research.
  • With a high level of skill you will manage projects to analyst data and apply research to practice in the delivery of these public health areas.
  • Be responsible for the implementation of relevant national and local policy and recommendations.

Experience needed as a Public Health Principal:

  • Be a public health professional with a Masters in Public Health or equivalent, ideally registered with UKPHR.
  • Have in depth knowledge of wider determinants of health and health inequalities, specifically knowledge around CYP public health, sexual health and 0-19 public health.
  • Be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, with the ability to lead teams both operationally and strategically.
  • Available references for the past two years.
