Project Manager – Vehicle Dwellers Strategy

As the Project Manager you will lead a strategic response to a complex and escalating situation involving Vehicle Dwellers in the city. Have expertise in leading on politically sensitive projects, working at the intersection of housing, homelessness, community engagement, and public policy.

You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of a sensitive and high-priority project, ensuring it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You’ll work closely with internal teams, elected members, and external stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable solutions that balance community needs, legal frameworks, and political considerations.
 
Your role as Interim Project Manager – Vehicle Dwellers Strategy:

  • Proven experience managing complex, politically sensitive projects within housing, homelessness, Gypsy/Traveller, or vehicle dweller contexts.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage diverse communities and navigate conflicting priorities.
  • Experience working in local government or similar public sector environments.
  • Ability to work flexibly under pressure and adapt quickly to shifting priorities and political direction.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and risk management skills.

 
Your previous experience as Interim Project Manager – Vehicle Dwellers Strategy:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the Vehicle Dwellers project using the Council’s project management framework.
  • Manage project budgets, risks, and resources effectively.
  • Develop and maintain robust governance, communication, and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Provide clear reporting to the Project Board and senior leadership.
  • Ensure the project aligns with wider council strategies and community needs.
