An exciting opportunity to scope the initial requirements for our clients new intranet/Website working closely with the Head of Digital and Head of Programmes/Transformation. Our client is looking for a motivated self starter to drive forward this critical agenda to improve the quality of the council’s customer experience.
Sitting within the Customer, Communities and Partnerships Programme, part of the Chief Executive’s Office, this role is critical in driving the development of modern, user-focused intranet and website solutions
 
About your role as IT Project Manager:
As a Project Manager, you will lead on planning, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, working across teams to deliver high-quality digital solutions. Your ability to manage both traditional and agile methodologies will be key in ensuring project success.
You will ensure these digital platforms are aligned with organisational objectives, stakeholder needs, and best practices in accessibility and user experience (UX).
Your Key Responsibilities as IT Project Manager:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of intranet and website development projects, ensuring they meet user needs and business goals.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Define and manage project scope, allocating tasks and setting clear deadlines.
    Identify risks, resolve obstacles, and implement changes as needed.
  • Engage with internal teams, external suppliers, and senior stakeholders, providing clear updates and ensuring alignment.
  • Apply agile and lean principles to ensure effective backlog management, estimation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure projects adhere to best practices in digital accessibility, user experience (UX), and data security.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to inform decision-making and drive digital innovation.
    Support the delivery of a seamless, user-friendly digital experience for both staff and external users.

What We’re Looking For

  • Project management experience within a Local Authority setting (essential).
    PRINCE2 or equivalent qualification (essential).
  • Experience managing digital projects, particularly website and intranet development.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate confidently across all levels.
  • Ability to manage financial and performance data with accuracy to support key business decisions.
  • A proactive problem-solver with the ability to balance user needs, organisational goals, and technical constraints.
