SEND Case Officer – Pre-14

Baltimore Consulting are working with a Local Authority in the South East to appoint an experienced SEND Case Officer specialising in Pre-14 (0–Year 10) casework. This role is focused on managing a high-volume caseload of EHCPs, supporting annual reviews, transition planning, and compliance with statutory processes.
This is a key role within the SEND team, ideal for someone with in-depth knowledge of pre-14 SEND case management and experience working within a local authority setting.
 
Your Role as a SEND Case Officer:

  • Act as the named officer for children, young people, and parent-carers, providing advice on EHCP processes.
  • Manage a high-volume caseload of children aged 0 to Year 10.
  • Coordinate input and multi-agency advice for EHCP annual reviews.
  • Attend and arrange annual review meetings, including for complex and phase transfer cases.
  • Liaise with schools, parents, and other professionals to support transitions.
  • Amend and update EHCPs post-review within statutory timelines.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, schools, and other local authorities.
  • Accurately maintain data and record all case activity using the SEN system (Synergy).

 
Your experience as a SEND Case Officer:

  • Must have prior experience working with Pre-14 SEND caseloads within a local authority.
  • Strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory EHCP processes.
  • Ability to manage complex cases, including CiC, EOTAS, and EHE.
  • Confident in liaising with professionals, schools, and families.
  • Proficient in using SEN databases such as Synergy.
  • Able to work independently and deliver work to statutory deadlines.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to undergo a new check.
  • References covering the last 3 years of employment must be available upon request.
