Reporting into the Locality Manager you will be responsible for assessment cases within the community, under the provisions of relevant Social Care legislation and in accordance with Occupational Therapy training. There will be a requirement to compete assessments in person but flexibility to uphold the rest of the repsonsibilties working remotely.

About the Occupational Therapist role:
 
To ensure the service carries out its statutory functions under the Care Act 2014; including safeguarding adults at risk, prevention, information and advice, timely assessment, eligibility decision-making, care and support planning and review.
Be responsible for initial contact assessments
Make recommendations to improve service users’ independence and/or reduce the strain on carers
Implement treatment programmes for service users in the Local Authority’s residential and respite units
 
About you as a Occupational Therapist:
 
Experience of working for a Local Authority
Experience of carrying out appropriate risk assessments for service users (both in homes and clinic)
Could come from a health background but would need to be registered with HCPC
Able to work under pressure
Up to date knowledge of all Current legislations
High professional standards
Interpersonal skills
Personal reliance
Statutory experience
