Deputy Service Manager – Children’s Residential Services
Location: South West England
Salary: £500-£600 per day (negotiable for experienced candidates)
Contract Length: 3-6 months (potential for extension)
Start Date: ASAP

A forward-thinking Local Authority is seeking a Deputy Service Manager to support its expanding Children’s Residential Services. This is a newly created role to help oversee multiple homes, ensuring operational excellence and high standards of care.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the opening of new children’s homes and recruitment of staff.
• Ensuring safer recruitment practices and maintaining compliance with regulations.
• Providing operational management oversight across multiple homes.
• Supervising Registered Managers and offering strategic support.
• Conducting fire risk assessments and ensuring safety protocols.

   

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Experience in children’s residential care in a leadership role (Deputy Manager, Team Manager, Service Manager, or similar).
• Strong operational management skills.
• Experience opening new homes and ensuring compliance.
• Understanding of safer recruitment and regulatory requirements.
• Flexible and able to work hybrid, with occasional site visits.
