Improvement Lead – Children’s Social Care 3-6 month interim contract from 1st June 2021 or sooner Inside IR35 – £400-£450 per day (via umbrella) West Midlands Local Authority Full time (majority of the contract offered on a remote basis with 1 day per week on site presence required)

Although a Good rated authority, this council is committed to the continuous development of staff and practice for outcomes for children. In light of this, they are looking to bring in additional resource to support the improvement agenda working directly to the Service Director and alongside the other Heads of Service. This role will have no direct line management responsibilities.
Your duties as Improvement Lead – Children’s Social Care
The primary purpose of role is to secure dedicated capacity at a senior level to work to the Service Director to support the Children’s Service Improvement Programme and to step in to support other Head of Service tasks where required.
This will include preparation of some written documents for Improvement Board and other time limited pieces of work that are required across the Directorate.
A key driver for this role is to ensure a relentless focus on the pace and impact of improvement to services for children at a critical point in the teams Children’s Services improvement journey.
You will not be managing staff as part of this role.
Strong partnership and stakeholder management- demonstrable skills with extensive experience working with senior stakeholders across multiple organisations
Strong collaborative team work mentality
High performance management across statutory services – know what Good looks like
Utilise data to support performance framework and deliver improvement in quality of provision/social care practice
Experience needed as Improvement Lead – Children’s Social Care
Experience of working in Children’s Social Care at a Head of Service level is essential, as is working in an improvement environment.
Project work skills are an advantage.
Active registration with Social Care England
Strong analytical skills to managing data and reports
Hands on approach to coaching and improvement support programmes
