An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Head of SEND within a small Local Authority to lead and develop services in respect of SEND and Inclusion. Reporting to the Director of Education you will be responsible for leading and managing SEND and Inclusion services ensuring positive outcomes by way of consultation and policy reviews.

As Head of Service you will be managing staff members across SEND, Educational Psychology and Inclusion therefore it is essential that you have worked in a similar role within a Local Authority setting across multi-discipline areas. You will be tasked with developing transformational change across SEND in order to identify and deliver cost savings and drive performance.

This a fantastic opportunity for a SEND specialist who has an innovative approach to delivering quality, and effective Education services.

To be successful, you will –

  • A proven track record of change management and transformation management in a senior management role for a local authority – Ideally this will be in line with the government agenda in respect of SEND
  • Clear evidence of a strong track record of leading major projects or change initiatives.
  • Experience of working within a Local Authority (This is essential)
  • Attended strategic and multi-agency meetings in a representative capacity
  • Lead cross functional teams in high pressure settings and budgetary management
  • Specialised understanding SEND and Inclusion across all facets
