Head of SEN

£550 per day

Inside IR35 (via umbrella)
Southwest based local authority – hybrid working (up to 3 days onsite)

Reporting to the Director of Education you will maintain the service and team of officers until the permanent Head of SEN starts.

Your Role as a Head of SEN:

  • Lead an effective SEN statutory service
  • Drive a person-centred approach and improve communication with families & stakeholders
  • Work alongside the Programme manager and Statutory SEND Service Manager
  • Support the Director of Education

Your previous experience as a Head of SEN:

  • Up-to-date with national legislation and SEND statutory responsibilities
  • Proven experience in commissioning, budget management, and performance monitoring
  • Strong leadership in strategic SEND operations, with project and contract management expertise within a local authority setting (Service manager or Head of Service)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
