Head of Safeguarding – CIN & Child Protection

Head of Children’s Safeguarding
3-6 month interim contract
Inside IR35 – £500- £550  per day (via umbrella)
North East –Full time (3 days onsite presence required/remote working supported)
 
 
Baltimore Consulting are working with a Local Authority based in the North to appoint an experienced Head of Children’s Safeguarding with an immediate start. The role has arisen for a 3-6 month period as extra capacity with a key focus on Ofsted-led improvement. This role will cover strategic and operational functions across:
 

• Front Door/Assessment
• MASH
• Child in Need
• Safeguarding / Child Protection
• Court proceedings
• Complex safeguarding

 
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Social care, you will be responsible for oversight and management 3 direct reports and team managers within their respective services.
 
Your duties as Head of Children’s Safeguarding:
 

• Operational and strategic oversight of above outlined services for Children’s Safeguarding
• 3 direct reports and oversight of team managers within service areas
• High performance management across statutory services – know what Good looks like
• Utilise data to support the performance framework and deliver improvement in the quality of provision/social care practice

 
 
Experience needed as Head of Children’s Safeguarding:
 

• More than 2 years’ experience at a minimum as a Head of Service Level across statutory functions for children’s safeguarding
• Active registration with Social Care England
• Strong analytical skills to managing data and reports
• Robust understanding and management of thresholds and safeguarding practice
• Hands on approach to management
• Available references for most recent 2 year’s roles.
