Head of Adult Commissioning

Job Title:                           Head of Commissioning – Adult Social Care & Health
Contract Length:               3 to 6 month initial interim contract
Location:                           London Borough Council

Pay rate:                            £500 per day
IR35 Status:                      Inside IR35

An exciting opportunity to work with one of Baltimore’s established clients in London as they look to secure an experience commissioning professional to lead as the Head of Service on an interim basis.
 
Your duties as Head of Commissioning:

• Support the Director of Commissioning in the implementation of flagship commissioning programmes, whilst also leading on the operational delivery of the councils adult commissioning function.
• Operationally and strategically manage the adult social care commissioning team, ensuring team plans and performance targets are delivered and maintaining. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of the commissioning model and delivery of the council’s commissioning strategy.
• By working closely with internal and external partners you will develop and enhance social care solutions to promote health and wellbeing, whilst strengthening early intervention and prevention for the councils social care team.
• Work closely with procurement and contract management professionals to ensure resources are deployed appropriately, ensuring wider commissioning activities are consistent and effective.
• Provide support, guidance and direction to the commissioning team, leading and applying expert knowledge.

 
Experience needed as Head of Commissioning:

• Adult Social Care Commissioning experience, specifically within a local authority setting, with previous experience of leading local government adult social care commissioning departments.
• Experience of developing service user and stakeholder involvement in the commissioning and delivery of services to implement and deliver strategic service outcomes.
• High level of resilience, advocacy, persuasion and emotional intelligence
• Knowledge of current relevant legislation and statutory duties, responsibilities and best practice in relation to the commissioning and contracting of Adult Services.
