We are currently working with a Housing Partnership in the South London that are looking for an experienced Fire Safety Works Surveyor for an initial 6 month contract.

As the interim Fire and Building Safety Lead/ Surveyor you will report into the Head of Compliance. You will work with the Project and Programme Managers to deliver an excellent service on Fire Risk Assessments, including high-rise blocks. You will ensure the recent recommendations and improvement actions have been successfully implemented.
 
In this role you will support in maintaining the high level of operational assurance needed for this function.
 
Your Role as Fire Safety Works Surveyor;

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for SHP.
  2. Support the review of Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and the assignment of associated actions and works.
  3. Ensure all completed, in-progress, and planned works comply with current standards and regulatory requirements, including the Building Safety Act 2022, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Act 2005, The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2021, and Approved Document B.
  4. Assist in reviewing and maintaining up-to-date building safety information and records in accordance with the golden thread and requirements set by the Building Safety Regulator.
  5. Effectively manage contractors to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery, focusing on customer satisfaction and value for money.
  6. Facilitate works by assisting with access, communication, and planning.
  7. Conduct audits and post-inspections of completed works.
  8. Provide support to the Building Safety Manager in their daily responsibilities.

Your previous experience as Fire Safety Works Surveyor;

  1. A degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Building Safety, Occupational Safety, or a related discipline is preferred.
  2. A relevant certification, such as Fire Safety Manager (FSM) or NEBOSH Fire Safety, is desirable.
  3. Industry certifications like Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), Fire Safety Manager (FSM), or equivalent are highly sought after.
