Are you an experienced SEND Casework Officer looking for your next interim opportunity? Do you thrive in a fast-paced statutory environment where your expertise can make a real difference to children and young people with SEND? This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled SEND Casework Officer to join a well-established team supporting children and families through complex assessment and review processes.
 
As a SEND Casework Officer, you will manage a diverse caseload and work collaboratively with families, schools and multi-agency professionals to ensure children and young people receive the support they need. This role would suit an experienced SEND Casework Officer who can hit the ground running, provide expert advice, and contribute positively within a team-focused environment.
 
Your Role as SEND Casework Officer:

• Manage a caseload of approximately 220 EHCP cases across Primary, Secondary or Post-16 pathways.
• Lead and coordinate the statutory 20-week Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment process.
• Oversee Annual Reviews and ensure compliance with SEND legislation and statutory timescales.
• Build strong relationships with parents, carers, schools and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Support Children Looked After (CLA) with EHCPs and contribute to high-quality case management practices

 
Your Previous Experience as SEND Casework Officer:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience within a SEND Statutory Assessment Team.
• Extensive knowledge of SEND legislation, statutory processes and compliance requirements.
• Proven experience managing the 20-week assessment process and Annual Reviews independently.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly with families and educational settings.
• Experience using Synergy would be highly advantageous

 
You will be joining a supportive team environment with regular supervision, performance feedback and ongoing training. Agency staff are expected to bring significant knowledge and experience, sharing best practice and supporting less experienced colleagues through mentoring and buddying arrangements.
