Director of Children’s Integrated Services – Social Care
3-6-month interim contract to start ASAP

East Midlands
£650-£800 per day

Inside IR35 (via umbrella)
Hybrid working (2/3 days per week onsite)

Reporting into the Director of Children’s Social Care, you’ll take strategic leadership of their Children’s Integrated Services, encompassing Children’s Social Care, Children in Care, and Regulatory Services. This pivotal role demands close collaboration with elected members, the Corporate Director, key partners, and their communities to turn vision into tangible, impactful outcomes. We’re seeking a dynamic leader who thrives in times of change, fosters a high-performing and inclusive culture, and consistently places children and families at the centre of every decision and service they deliver.

Your Role as Director of Children’s Integrated Services – Social Care:

  • We’re seeking a compassionate, results-driven leader with senior experience in large, complex organisations and a talent for turning strategy into action
  • You’ve led sustainable change and built strong reputations through robust performance frameworks, good governance, and sound financial management
  • You understand the challenges facing local government, and know how to lead inclusive, motivated teams that deliver improved outcomes
  • You’ve successfully delivered major transformation programmes and innovative service models within tight budgets, with a creative and impact-focused approach
  • collaborative and politically astute leader, you build trusted relationships and are deeply committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion in both workforce and service delivery

Your previous experience as Director of Children’s Integrated Services – Social Care :

  • A relevant professional qualification, a qualified and registered social worker would be preferred
  • A leadership/management qualification (ILM Level 7 or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
