Are you an experienced Senior Education Officer / Deputy Head of Virtual School looking for your next interim challenge? This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role within a well-established Virtual School, leading frontline educational support for vulnerable children and young people whilst managing a high-performing team of education professionals.

As Senior Education Officer / Deputy Head of Virtual School, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of the Virtual School service, supporting children in care, previously looked after children and children with a social worker. Reporting into the Head of Virtual School, you will lead a team of 8 Education Officers and a Data Officer, driving improvements in educational outcomes, attendance, inclusion and engagement. This is a highly visible Senior Education Officer / Deputy Head of Virtual School position that offers both strategic influence and operational leadership, including deputising responsibilities for the Head of Virtual School.

Your Role as Senior Education Officer / Deputy Head of Virtual School:

• Lead the day-to-day delivery and performance of the Virtual School service
• Manage, support and develop a team of 8 Education Officers and 1 Data Officer
• Drive improvements in attendance, engagement, inclusion and educational outcomes
• Use data, evidence and performance information to evaluate impact and identify gaps
• Build strong partnerships with schools, carers, social workers, families and key stakeholders

Your Experience as Senior Education Officer / Deputy Head of Virtual School:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
• Previous experience within a Virtual School setting at Deputy Head level
• Strong leadership experience managing education professionals and service performance
• Proven ability to analyse educational data and drive service improvement initiatives
• Extensive experience working with vulnerable children and multi-agency partners
