Reporting into the Director of Public Health you will be responsible for working to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities for our residents for a Local Authority.

This role has a bias around Health Inequalities, mental health and Suicide Prevention, so you must have experience of these to be considered for the role.

About the Consultant in Public Health role:

  • This role is leading on Health inequalities, Mental Health and Wellbeing and you will need to be able to demonstrate this experience.
  • Be able to provide advice and support to other public health staff and organisations, including directors of public health, the government, and local authorities on health protection issues
  • Be confident in making change happen, build rapport and work professionally with both internal and external stakeholders

 
Your previous experience as a Consultant in Public Health:

  • UK PHR Registrar- Active or receiving within 6/12 months.
  • Experience of Mental Health and Health inequalities is essential
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to design, develop, interpret and implement strategies and policies
  • Strong team management and performance skills
