Job Title: CHC Assessor – Children & Young People
Location: South London Local Authority (remote working)
Contract Length: 45 Days consultancy work
Day Rate: £550 per day (inside IR35)

Baltimore Consulting are partnered with a South London Local Authority who are seeking an experienced and NMC-registered Nurse to support a targeted review of high-cost care cases for children and young people. This is a specialist, short-term project focused on reassessing eligibility for NHS CHC funding in line with the National Framework for Children and Young People’s Continuing Care (Feb 2016).
 
Your role as the CHC Analyst:

  • Review 7–15 complex cases where care is currently funded primarily the council.
  • Determine whether each case meets the criteria for CHC funding.
  • Prepare detailed assessments and reports (desk-based, approx. 3 days per case).
  • Provide clear guidance and “lines to take” for re-referral to ICB where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with nominated staff to plan follow-up actions.
  • All work is desk-based; no in-person visits to children or young people are required.Up to 3 CHC Analysts/Nurses will be contracted based on skill and availability.

 
Your experience as a CHC Analyst:

  • NMC Registration.
  • Significant experience with children/young people in paediatrics or learning disability settings.
  • Strong working knowledge of the 2016 CHC Guidelines.
  • Proven experience completing CHC assessments for children and young people.
  • Understanding of Children’s Social Care.
  • Awareness of Local Authority responsibilities.
