Responsible for carrying out scheduled and responsive maintenance activities, as well as conducting condition and compliance surveys across the council’s property portfolio. Support the implementation of the council’s Asset Management Plan
 
Your role as a Building Surveyor:  

  • Manage day-to-day responsive maintenance across the council’s property estate.
  • Oversee the delivery of the planned maintenance programme throughout the property portfolio.
  • Conduct asbestos, condition, and accessibility surveys to ensure PCC buildings are maintained in line with the maintenance strategy
  • To respond to service and public requests received through the CRM system, including emergencies, by conducting inspections and taking appropriate action — such as coordinating with building managers — to address issues in line with the council’s maintenance strategy.

 
Your previous experience as a Building Surveyor:  

  • Membership of or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body, eg RICS or CIOB – within 18 months of appointment
  • Extensive knowledge of building construction, planning & building regulations
  • Experience of delivering reactive maintenance works and maintenance programmes.
  • Experience of prioritising reactive and planned maintenance programmes

You must have 2 years’ experience of working in a Local Authority to be considered the above roles.
