Job Title: SEND Audit and Review Case Officer
Location: South West Local Authority (Hybrid – In the office at least two days a week)
Contract Type: Interim (initial 3 months) 
Start Date: 03 February 2025
Rate: £300-320 per day (Inside IR35)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEND Case Worker to join a South West Local Authority as an Interim SEND Audit and Review Case Officer. The role involves assessing and improving the quality of EHC needs assessments and annual reviews, ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines.

About the Role:

  • Conduct an initial review to establish the current status of EHC needs assessments and plan quality.
  • Identify gaps in practice and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Report to the SEND Improvement Lead on a weekly basis.
  • Present findings and recommendations to panels such as the High Cost Panel or Preparing for Adulthood Panel.
  • Manage complex casework when necessary to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
  • Utilize the Synergy system effectively (training provided if required).

About You: 

  • Proven experience as a SEND Case Worker with a solid track record.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently within a team and independently.
