Assistant Divisional Manager

3 month contract
Band 8A paid at £270 per day (inside IR35)
Full time position, with hybrid working model

Job Specification

We have partnered up with a busy NHS organisation who are looking for an Assistant Divisional Manager to join their management team. With a proven track record of operational and strategic management you will be able to oversee and lead a large and diverse team. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your relationship building skills by working closely and collaboratively with colleagues to review, develop and redesign services to ensure patients needs are met along with the divisions own targets and objectives. They will be entrusted with identifying areas of improvement with the division and ensure plans are put into place to effectively do so.

Key Responsibilities of Assistant Divisional Manager 

  • Reporting directly to the Divisional Director
  • Overseeing a team of 80 from multiple disciplines
  • Responsible for devising new service developments and initiatives
  • Working closely with commissioning division to ensure that funding is utilised wisely for appropriate services through analysing data and auditing amongst other methods
  • Representing the division and the Trust in meeting both internally and externally
  • Analysing workforce gaps by looking at current and future service activity
  • Working closely with line managers and HR to monitor key workforce indicators and hold people to account for poor performance

Experience needed as Assistant Divisional Manager 

  • Proven relevant operational management experience
  • Demonstrated evidence of managing financial budgets
  • Excellent communication skills and able to build and maintain relationships with all levels of staff
  • Resilience and confidence to meet and exceed targets
  • Line management of large and diverse teams to positively affect motivation of workforce
  • Previously worked in Acute NHS setting  
  • Available references for most recent 2 year’s roles
