Baltimore Consulting commit to supporting Bristol Mind and Cancer Research UK as their Charity of the Year 2021

Recruitment company with a difference, Baltimore Consulting, have partnered with Cancer Research UK and Bristol Mind for 2021.

Bighearted business, Baltimore Consulting, will be supporting and directing their fundraising efforts to Cancer Research UK and local charity Bristol Mind, as their charities of choice this year.

Charity contribution is an integral aspect of Baltimore Consulting’s business model and both of these causes are not only extremely close to CEO, Charmaine Vincent’s heart, but the wider business as well. Having most recently completed a 100-mile challenge in 24 hours, the team are excited to increase their fundraising efforts in support of both charities.

Last year, Charmaine organised an event at Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol in a bid to raise vital funds for life-saving cancer research having lost her best friend to cancer 11-years ago. The event took take place on World Cancer Day, a day to unite and beat cancer together with an aim to raise £20,000, a target in which she exceeded.

Hosted by Jeff Brazier, this prestigious black-tie event included a drink’s reception, a three-course meal, entertainment, music, auction, raffle and networking opportunities. Cancer Research UK attended, with key researchers citing the local impact funds have had.

Prior to the event, Charmaine also organised for 26 men and women to bare all in a calendar shoot for Cancer Research UK, eight of which were her employees!

The “calendar girls” inspired calendars were sold in the lead up to Christmas 2019, fundraising over £3,000 for vital research for the cancer charity, in order to save lives.

On the announcement, Laura Billingsley, Relationship Manager (Bristol, Bath & Surrounding Areas), states: “It’s fantastic that Baltimore Consulting have chosen us as their Charity of Choice. So far they have raised over £27,000 which is amazing! The funds raised are crucial to the work of our researchers, doctors and nurses who working hard to beat over 200 types of cancer. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment to the cause.

Cancer Research UK has made enormous progress in the fight against cancer. However, we have only been able to do this thanks to the dedication and commitment of our volunteers and supporters like everyone at Baltimore Consulting, without whom we would not be able to fund our research.”

The decision to support local charity, Bristol Mind, was an easy one. Having regularly donated to the charity, their prominence and importance on society during these unprecedented times is ever more crucial and CEO, Charmaine Vincent recognises this. Charmaine has always offered additional support to her employees over the years, such as adjusting working hours and paying for private counselling sessions. Supporting wellbeing and aiding issues surrounding mental health has ensured that employees have a positive focus at work and a real support network for all staff.

The Baltimore team have supported us in the past so, we are thrilled to partner with their team again. The charity sector and mental health services have been affected by the Pandemic in many ways. Receiving local support is vital in helping us reach more people.”

Bristol Mind is a local mental health charity that supports the rights and needs of people with mental health problems in Bristol and the surrounding areas. The charity promotes positive mental and emotional wellbeing and challenges stigma and discrimination.  To achieve this, Bristol Mind deliver a range of services which include; free advocacy, counselling, mental health awareness training and, free helplines.
