This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced opportunity for a SPECIALIST BUILDING SURVEYOR (REPAIRS) who wants to be trusted with real responsibility from day one. You will be front‑line, visible and empowered to make technical decisions that directly impact residents’ homes, safety and satisfaction. Reporting into a senior housing lead, you will manage your own inspections, prioritise urgent cases and see work through from diagnosis to sign‑off. If you thrive on autonomy, variety and problem‑solving, this role will keep you fully engaged.
You will spend four days on site carrying out inspections and coordinating works, with one home‑working day dedicated to reporting and administration. This is a delivery‑focused role where your judgement, professionalism and technical expertise genuinely matter.
Your role as Specialist Building Surveyor (Repairs):
•Deliver 3–4 daily inspections, including urgent and emergency visits
•Diagnose complex defects – damp, mould, structural and disrepair issues
•Produce clear technical reports, specifications and contractor instructions
•Manage reactive repairs and small refurbishment works, completing final sign‑offs
•Ensure compliance and safety, meeting legislation, asbestos controls and regulatory timescales
You will liaise confidently with contractors, residents and internal teams to coordinate works, resolve issues and maintain high standards of customer service. You will also review structural reports and quotations, provide day‑to‑day technical guidance to housing colleagues, and support legal disrepair cases with accurate, professional report writing.
Your experience as Specialist Building Surveyor (Repairs):
•Proven background in building surveying or housing inspections
•Strong knowledge of damp & mould, disrepair and Scott schedules
•Experience producing specifications and reviewing quotations/structural reports
•Sound understanding of building regulations, H&S and housing legislation
•Confident communicator with a customer‑focused, solutions‑led approach
