Parent & Child Assessment Centre Manager

Location: Yorkshire
Rate: £450 per day, inside IR35 Umbrella
Start Date: ASAP 
Contract Type: Permanent or interim contracts available

4 days per week minimum onsite required
6 Months initially

We are seeking an exceptional Parent & Child Assessment Centre Manager to lead a new assessment service. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Team Manager, Registered Manager or Qualified Social Worker to take on a crucial leadership role within a fast‑paced, outcome‑driven environment supporting parents and their children.
As part of a wider Children’s Social Care service, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality parenting assessments, ensuring robust practice standards, and securing positive outcomes for some of the most vulnerable families in Leeds.
 
About the Role
You will lead the operational and practice delivery of a dedicated Parent & Child Assessment Centre, overseeing assessments, staff, and the quality of all court‑facing work. The service requires a confident, experienced leader with strong assessment expertise, resilience, and the ability to operate within a dynamic, demanding environment.
Residential experience is highly advantageous, though not essential, for candidates with strong assessment and court experience. A background in Looked After Children, Court, and Family Safeguarding is highly advantageous.
 
Essential Experience & Skills
We are looking for someone with:

  • Team Manager, Registered Manager or Social Work experience.
  • Strong assessment skills, including experience of court-directed and court-presented work
  • Proven ability to lead and quality‑assure comprehensive parenting assessments
  • Experience working with fostering services, kinship teams, multi-agency partners, and statutory services
  • Confidence managing a fast‑paced service, balancing risk, quality, and compliance

 
Key Responsibilities
In this leadership role, you will:

  • Lead and quality assure all parent and child assessments within the service
  • Manage all court-related processes, documentation, and deadlines
  • Provide strong day‑to‑day operational oversight, including line management and workforce planning
  • Promote and embed best practice, ensuring assessments meet the highest professional and regulatory standards
  • Drive positive outcomes for families through high-quality, relationship-based practice
  • Work collaboratively with wider social care teams, fostering services, kinship teams, and partner agencies
