Programme Manager

6 month contract – 4 days per week (30 hours)
Hybrid working
West Sussex, South East
£400 per day (umbrella), Inside IR35

To manage and drive forward the delivery of the Children with Complex Lives programme. This role oversees planning, delivery, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and risk management to ensure all elements of the project are aligned with strategic priorities and outcomes.

About your duties as the Programme Manager:

Project Leadership and Delivery

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of the programme, coordinating all workstreams.
  • Ensure progress is aligned to milestones, KPIs, and budget requirements.
  • Manage programme risks and mitigation plans, reporting to the Strategic Lead and governance boards.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with local authority, NHS, education, and justice partners.
  • Facilitate task and finish groups, MDTs, and programme boards.
  • Act as the main point of contact for external stakeholders and funders (e.g., DfE, ICBs).

 

Performance, Learning and Improvement

  • Coordinate data collection, impact monitoring, and reporting.
  • Use insight to inform service development and strategic decision-making.
  • Support the delivery of the CANS pilot and associated workforce development.

 

Your experience needed as the Senior Programme Manager:

  • Appropriate professional programme management qualification or equivalent experience operating at a senior level.
  • Substantial experience of leading and implementing complex, multifaceted transformation programmes.
  • Substantial knowledge and expertise within Children’s Services
  • Understanding of contextual safeguarding and trauma-informed care.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrable skills and experience of working with senior stakeholders and partnership working across different organisations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate problems, assess risk and identify/ suggest solutions
  • Must hold a valid enhanced DBS or be able to undertake a new one
  • Available references for most recent 5 year’s roles
