Job Title: Interim Head of Commissioning, Contracts & Quality – Health & Social Care
Location: Yorkshire (Hybrid)
Rate: £550 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: Initial 6 month interim contract, Full-time
 
An ambitious local authority in the Yorkshire & Humber region is seeking an Interim Head of Commissioning, Contracts & Quality to lead service excellence across health and social care commissioning. With portfolio oversight spanning Children’s, SEND, Public Health & Adults Social Care; this would benefit from a leader with strength of knowledge in Childrens Social Care & Education Commissioning.
 
Due to the urgent nature of this role, interviews will be taking place Friday 15th and Monday 18th August for an start within the coming weeks.
 
The Role

• Drive delivery of the commissioning strategy in partnership with NHS and regional partners in the provider market.
• Lead contract & quality management across all commissioned providers, ensuring safety, value for money, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee safeguarding alerts, complaints, and partnership working with CQC and Ofsted.
• Champion equality, diversity, and co-production with service users.
• Manage and develop a senior team, budgets, and performance metrics offering a high support/high challenge leadership style to develop staff knowledge and skills
• Provide expert advice and high-impact reports for senior stakeholders.
  Portfolio/contract management oversight circa £250m

 
About You

• You’ll bring senior leadership experience in contract management and quality assurance within health and/or social care, with a proven track record in safeguarding, provider market development, and collaborative working across agencies.
• You’ll have expertise in the development of Quality Assurance frameworks
• Collaborative leadership will be essential to your success within this role to drive forward key agendas and priorities
• You’re knowledge of efficient systems utilising tools such as Power BI and OneDrive will be clearly evidenced
• 2 years references and enhanced DBS required for this position
